Data Entry

Dates Data Entry

The dates in the AWC application can either be entered as free-form text or by using the calendar widget. The free-form dates can be entered in the following format:

To enter a date using the calendar icon/date widget:

  1. To the right of the date field, click the calendar icon. This opens the calendar widget for date selection.
  2. To select a different month/year, click the arrow to the left or right of the month/year displayed at the top of the calendar widget, selecting the desired month and year.
  1. To complete the date selection, click on the day displayed in the calendar. Clicking on the day in the calendar set's the date and closes the calendar widget.

Note

When entering a date using the calendar widget, the date will be formatted as mm/dd/yyyy.

Drop-down List Data Entry

Some data entry fields provide a drop-down list of values to select from. The fields that provide drop-down list selections are initially displayed with the default value of "-Select-" To choose a value, click the arrow to the right of the "Select..." and then select the desired value from the drop-down list.

Some drop-down list allow multiple selections. The values in such lists are preceded by a check box. Select the check box to include the value in the list.

Smart Search Field Data Entry

Some fields provide a dynamically populated list of values from which to select. The fields which provide dynamically populated (smart text box) list selections usually indicate how many initial characters should be entered to generate the list. The system will auto populate a list of values to choose from based on the characters entered. To choose a value, enter the first few characters in the field and then select the desired choice from the list.

In addition to providing a list of values to choose from, some of the smart text fields allow free-form data entry. Rather than selecting a value from the list, continue entering the data as free-form text.

Validation & Constraints

  1. Mandatory fields are indicated with a red asterisk (*) on the screen when applicable. If any mandatory data is not entered, the system displays a warning message and prompts you to enter the missing data.
  2. When searching records, if the Date From is entered AND the Date To is entered, the Date To must be after the Date From.
